When I work on a project, sometimes I like to have fun and include a few little hidden things into the pages, as a special nod to my family or otherwise. For this book, I knew that it would make it fun for my friends and family to read along and see something familiar. An extra connection that I knew would be enjoyable for my loved ones.

HIDDEN STUFF

The first “easter egg” you’ll encounter is on pages 4-5.

On this page, scroll down to find all the “easter eggs” that I put into

“How To Train With a T. Rex And Win 8 Gold Medals!”

(You’ll notice that these pages shown here don’t have any text. I assure you that they do in the book!)

See that pizza delivery truck over on the right?

Ava’s Pizza is named after my daughter.

(Don’t ask her for any pizza, though.)

Turn the page, and you’ll find pages 18-19:

Say, what’s the name of that broccoli delivery service?

Ezra’s the name of my son, of course.

Let’s now look at page 22:

Let’s look a little closer:

Wow, take a look at this! I did something fun and created a vertical spread for pages 26-27. It’s always fun to turn the book on its side, right?

Look on the bottom of the page and you’ll see two hikers going up the hill. That’s loosely based on me and my wife, Andrea.

See all those little people underneath the Eiffel Tower? My daughter, Ava, helped out with the coloring of some of them!

See the guy with the glasses and goatee on the bottom there? That’s me. Couldn’t resist putting myself in the book. There are a few other faces featured here:

The bald guy next to me wearing the black jersey is my brother-in-law, Von.

Two guys above him, with the full beard and wearing purple and white is his brother, Nate.

Directly above Nate with the fu manchu mustache is their father, my father-in-law, Jim “Coach” Corrona. I drew him as he looked in the late 70’s when he was the head basketball coach at this high school in a small town in southern Illinois.

Okay, that’s it! I could show more, but then you’d have to buy the book!

Enjoy!
